בהודעה משותפת לראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו ולשר הביטחון ישראל כ"ץ, נכתב היום (חמישי) כי אין כל הנחייה לפתיחת מעבר ארז לסחורות. "מדיניות ישראל בעזה ברורה ולא השתנתה: לא יהיה שיקום לפני פירוק ארגון הטרור חמאס מנשקו ופירוז מלא של רצועת עזה".
