לפי הודעה של משרד הנשיאות הטורקי היום (שלישי), נשיא טורקיה, טאיפ ארדואן, דחק בנשיא ארצות הברית, דונלד טראמפ, בשיחת טלפון להמשיך בשיחות עם איראן כדי להפחית את המתיחות בין שתי המדינות, והציע את תמיכתה של אנקרה במאמצי השלום.
