כחודש וחצי לאחר התאונה בתל אביב, הוגש נגד הזמר ששון שאולוב כתב אישום. מהחקירה עלה כי הוא נכנס לצומת באור אדום והתנגש ברכב שבו נסעו שלושה צעירים. המעורבים סיפרו בשעתו לוואלה כי שאולוב לקח אחריות כבר בזירה: "זו הטעות שלי, עברתי באדום"
